Setting up white label

Sending delivery emails from your own domain, and having recipients download from your own web address such as files.yourstore.com, is one of the main reasons to use Veluril. All you need is a domain you own and access to change its DNS records. To read more about white label, see White label: delivery on your domain.

Open your domain settings

In your Veluril library, go to Settings. Under What your recipients see, click Your domain:

Settings, with Your domain highlighted under What your recipients see

Add your domain

Type the subdomain you want, like files.yourstore.com. Choose what happens if it ever stops working (you can change it at any time), then click the "Connect" button:

Your domains, the Subdomain field filled in as files.chessmastergames.com, Keep delivering on Veluril chosen, and the Connect button highlighted

Veluril prepares your DNS records. That can take a few minutes, and the page will automatically update.

Add your DNS records

There are three records to add: one for your download pages, and two for your email:

Set up this domain, at step 3 of 7, Add your DNS records, with Download page DNS asking for 1 record and Email DNS settings for 2

There are two sets of DNS records you need to create on your domain. If you are not sure what this means, please share these instructions with your DNS provider, who can help.

The first set configures your download page. That’s the URL the recipient goes to when they download your content.

Click Download page DNS to see its record, and add it where you manage your domain’s DNS, usually where you bought the domain. Each name and value has a copy button to help you avoid mistakes:

Download page DNS, one CNAME record named files with its value, each with a copy button

The second set sets up your email DNS, so the delivery emails come from your domain and not Veluril. That way, your recipient gets the delivery from deliveries@yourdomain.com and not from Veluril.

There are two DNS records to add for email, and both are required. Click Email DNS settings to see them. Take your time, and use the copy buttons to help prevent any copy and paste mistakes as you create the DNS records for your domain:

Email DNS settings, a TXT record for DKIM and a CNAME record for Return-Path, each with its name and value

When you’ve added all 3 DNS records with your provider, click the "Check DNS records" button to see the progress. We also keep checking in the background and update the page. New records can take a few minutes to an hour to appear.

Confirm your sending address

Once we find your records, we start setting up your domain and its email. While we do, choose the address your delivery emails come from, then click the "Confirm" button:

Set up this domain, at step 4 of 7, Confirm delivery email address, deliveries@chessmastergames.com chosen and the Confirm button highlighted

Your domain is live

When everything is set up, we email you to say your domain is live:

The Your domain is live email, saying files.chessmastergames.com is now connected, with a View your domain button

Your domain’s page now shows it’s Working, and every new delivery uses it:

files.chessmastergames.com marked Primary, its Status Working, with Download page DNS and Email DNS settings both Working

You can change your sending address at any time, under Sending address on the same page.

We keep checking your domain. In the unlikely event any of its DNS records stops working, we email you straight away.
